Biography
Nosayba El-Sayed is a postdoctoral associate at CSAIL,
MIT, hosted partially by QCRI through a CSAIL-QCRI joint
postdoctoral program. Nosayba completed her PhD at the
University of Toronto, where she focused on conducting
large-scale field-data analysis for the purpose of
optimizing the reliability and energy-efficiency of HPC
systems. In her postdoctoral research, Nosayba
investigates how to exploit features available in modern
hardware to optimize the performance of shared clusters,
using rigorous data-analytical techniques. Nosayba's work
has won an ACM Sigmetrics/Performance best paper award and
qualified her to become a recipient of several graduate
scholarships and awards including the Beatrice Worsley
Graduate Scholarship which recognizes distinguished women
in Computer Science.
