Wu Feng
Biography
Wu Feng is the Elizabeth and James Turner Fellow and
Professor in the Department of Computer Science and
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at
Virginia Tech. He leads the Synergy Laboratory and SEEC
Center, an interdisciplinary center to democratize
parallel and distributed computing, as well as three
".org" projects: The Green500 List, Supercomputing in
Small Spaces, and mpiBLAST. In addition, he co-leads the
Virginia Tech site of the NSF Center of High-Performance
Reconfigurable Computing. His research interests lie
broadly in parallel and distributed computing from
architecture to systems software and tools to
applications, including biocomputing, computational fluid
dynamics, and green computing. Feng received a B.S. in
Computer Engineering, B.S. Honors in Music, and M.S. in
Computer Engineering from Penn State University, and Ph.D.
in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a
Distinguished Member of the ACM.
