Sonja Habbinga
Biography
Sonja Habbinga received her degree in 2003 as a
Mathematical Technical Assistant in the field of
high-performance computing. During this 3-year training,
she deepened her knowledge of operating systems for
parallel computer architectures.
At the same time, she studied Technology Mathematics at the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen and received her diploma in 2005. Her thesis was entitled "Development of an online visualization for the simulation program NBODY6++ with the help of the coupling library VISIT". Sonja Habbinga is part of the Cross-Sectional Team "Visualization" at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre of the Forschungszentrum Jülich for twelve years. She supports scientists in the visual processing of their data and is a consultant in training courses for the visualization of scientific data with ParaView since 2012. For expressive scientific short films she uses the 3D animation software Blender intensively.
