Shigeru Iwase (born in Aichi, Japan, in Aug. 1991) received B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in surface and interface physics from Osaka University, Japan, in 2014, 2016, respectively. Since 2016, he started a Ph.D in physics at the University of Tsukuba, Japan. In 2016, he got a Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellowship for Doctor Course Student (DC1). His research interest is developing the methodology for the prediction and design of material science from first-principles. More specifically, his primary motivation is to establish the highly reliable and scalable method within density functional theory and apply it for the nanoscale electron transport phenomena.
