Catherine Jones leads the Software Engineering Group Leader in the Scientific Computing Department at Science and Technology Facilities Council in the UK. She is has a computing degree, is a member of the British Computer Society and a chartered Librarian. Her Group provides software engineering management tools and expertise to the UK academic computational science community ; data management pipelines to STFC Facilities, supporting the experimental community and publication and data repositories to STFC staff. Her personal research interests are the digital curation of software & data, persistent identification of software; linking research outputs (data, publications and software) and career paths for Research Software Engineers. She is part of the UK RSE Leaders Group and has been on the organising committee of the RSE Conference for the last two years.
