Biography
Dr. Andreas Lintermann is researcher at the RWTH Aachen
University and group leader of the pillar "Computing" of
the Profile Section "Computational Science & Engineering"
(CompSE) and the Simulation Laboratory "Highly Scalable
Fluids & Solids Engineering" of the Julich Aachen Research
Alliance, Section High-Performance Computing
(JARA-HPC).
He received his diploma in Computer Science from RWTH in 2009. He then became a PhD. student at the Institute of Aerodynamics and Chair of Fluid Mechanics at RWTH and received his PhD. from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 2014. Subsequently, he became group leader at JARA-HPC and in 2016 at CompSE. His research interests focus on respiratory flows, particle dynamics, numerical methods in high-performance computing, lattice-Boltzmann methods, efficient multi-physics coupling strategies, and multi-level parallelization techniques. Dr. Lintermann is furthermore member of the Industry Relations Team (IRT) at the Julich Supercomputing Centre (JSC), Forschungszentrum Julich.
