Julie Mullen
Biography
Julie Mullen is a scientific consultant and research
facilitator with the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Supercomputing
Center (LLSC) where she assists researchers in maximizing
their use of high performance computing resources in order
to minimize their time to solution. As an expert in High
Performance Computing for computational engineering
applications she focuses on re-designing scientific
workflows to streamline processing and improve the
performance of computational engineering applications. In
addition, Julie leads the design and creation of online
professional education experiences for the LLSC, including
courses in High Performance Computing, Advanced Database
Technologies and the use of high productivity middleware
technologies. Her work has published in both the
scientific computing and educational domains. Dr. Mullen
received her BSME from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and
her PhD in Engineering from Brown University where her
research centered on extending Nek5000 to support
numerical simulations of turbulent fluid flow.
