Sebastian Rettenberger
Biography
Sebastian Rettenberger graduated in Informatics at the
Techincal University of Munich.
Since 2012 he is a research assistant and doctoral candidate at Michael Bader's group on hardware-aware algorithms and software for high-performance computing.
During his studies he already concentrated on high performance computing, investigating adaptive meshes and mesh traversals using space-filling curves.
His current research subject is the implementation of hardware-aware optimizations focusing on parallel I/O in applications based on fully unstructured meshes.
He develops scalable libraries for efficient mesh initialization, visualization output, checkpointing and asynchronous I/O on modern supercomputers.
These libraries are integrated into SeisSol, an earthquake simulation code, as well as other simulation packages.
