Shinsuke Satake is an associate professor at the Fusion Theory and Simulation Research Division in NIFS. He received his Ph.D. degree in 2003 from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies. His main research subject is the collisional transport process in toroidal magnetic confined plasma, or so called neoclassical transport. He has developed a global neoclassical transport simulation code for general 3-dimensional magnetic configuration. His current study is application of the neoclassical simulation for evaluating the plasma viscosity and its effect on the plasma rotation profile in torus devices.
