Biography
Mike Showerman of the National Center for Supercomputing
Applications (NCSA) is active in the development and
deployment of run time analyses and visualizations of
large-scale HPC system state. For NCSA's Blue Waters
supercomputer (27,648 nodes), he has developed production
infrastructure for the computation and visualization of
application performance metrics based on system monitoring
data. His analysis work includes long-range studies of
system and application resource utilization and behaviors
to enable early diagnosis of application problems and
performance impact attribution. Mike is active in building
the HPC Monitoring Community as the host of a regular
series of Monitoring BoF's at the Cray User's Group
meeting and is the founder of the community web site
Monitoring Large-Scale HPC Systems.
