Hong Wang
Biography
Hong Wang received her B.S. degree in Physics from Nankai
University, Tianjin, China in 2015. She is now pursuing a
Ph.D degree in applied mathematics in Stony Brook
University, New York, USA. Her research interest focuses
on high-performance computing (HPC) and its application on
quantitative finance, especially the simulation and
prediction of market dynamics such as stock price and
foreign exchange rate by some deep learning methods. In
Nankai University, Hong was selected into Poling Class,
which is established for outstanding and promising
students. During her undergraduate program, she
participated in China’s National Undergraduate Innovation
Experiment Project, leading a project on simulation of
normal electromagnetic properties on metamaterials, which
is useful in designing nano-scale optical devices. Hong
has interned at the University of California at Irvine and
the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences,
Beijing, China. After graduation, she interned at the
National Supercomputer Center in Jinan, Shandong, China
during the summers of 2016 and 2017.
