Benjamin Welton is a seventh year PhD student studying computer science at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Ben's primary research focus is on the development of high performance computing tools targeting many-core accelerators such as GPUs. In addition to his research activities, he is the maintainer of the Multicast Reduction Network (MRNet) a software defined tree-based overlay network used by commercial and open source profiling and analysis tools to scale on large supercomputers. In the past, Ben has completed internships or short term appointments at Argonne National Laboratory and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.
