Rich Wolski
Biography
Dr. Rich Wolski is a Professor of Computer Science at UC
Santa Barbra and co-founder of Eucalyptus Systems Inc.
Having received his M.S. and Ph.D degrees in CS from UC
Davis (while a research Scientist at Lawrence Livermore
National Laboratory), he has also held positions at UC San
Diego, the University of Tennessee, the San Diego
Supercomputer Center, and Lawrence Berkeley National
Laboratory. Rich has led several national scale research
efforts in the area of distributed systems, co-leads the
UCSB SmartFarm project, and is the progenitor of the
Eucalyptus open source cloud project. Rich is an IEEE
Fellow and his work has been recognized with an NSF CAREER
award, a UCSB Distinguished Teaching Award, with selection
as a Cloud Computing Pioneer by Information Week.
