DescriptionWith the new classes of emerging workloads (e.g. ML,
Big Data) there are increasing opportunities in the data
center for FPGA algorithm, networking, and data access
acceleration. For example, Microsoft has announced that
they will accelerate Bing search, machine learning, and
networking with FPGAs. Key advances in FPGA hardware
architecture and integration with Xeons are also opening
up new and broader opportunities for Cloud and
Enterprise with significant performance increases in
areas such as networking, search, machine learning
scoring, and data analytics.
This presentation will provide an overview on the role and the impact of FPGAs in HPC and demonstrate how FPGAs are efficiently accelerating key HPC workloads, such as genomics, machine learning, video analytics and big data analytics.
